How did you start playing pool (earliest memory)?
Played junior competitions at the Potting Shed in Barrow 1986/87 winning the very first competition,
Who inspired you to first pick up a cue?
Steve Davis
Titles won:
Laurel UK 2005 doubles champion, Cumbria doubles champion 1996 and 1997, Cumbria County aggregate winner 2009, All local league titles won throughout the years. Cumbria County Man of the Match on 3 occasions last season. England EPA trialist 2009/10, Alan Fullard memorial winner 2002 and 2006, Elaine Evans memorial winner 1996.
What are your career highlights?
Qualifying and playing for for the Irish Blackball team 2010, Beating Gareth Hibbot 5-2 in the World Masters at Blackpool 2007, winning a national doubles championship in 2005, England EPA trialist.,

What are you goals in the sport?
to represent Ireland at International level and win some silverware for them and to do a gig at the temple bar with Ireland B1 Vice captain Stephen Carroll
What are your strengths?
Mental toughness when the frame or match looks to be lost.
What advice would you give an aspiring player?
Stick at it, keep practising, remember though its only a game, if you lose or play bad one week forget it, there are people dying in the world and at the end of the day its a game, your time to shine will come.
Other hobbies / activities
semi pro singer/entertainer/dj produce my own shows from Ratpack/Swing to Take That/Boyzone etc i have done over 20 of my own sell out shows at our local theatre (550 audience) and enjoy doing private functions too, check out www.denishoran.co.uk |
